Invitation to Secondary schools in Hampshire:

We would like to offer your school the opportunity of 2 FREE under 17 driving sessions on your campus.
We have public liability and indemnity cover and are legally insured to provide driver training for 10 to 16 year olds. Our cars are fitted with dual controls and all our driving instructors have been CRB checked and are Driving Standards Agency approved.

We have already held free sessions at Henry Beaufort School and The Westgate School in Winchester, Woodlands Community College in Southampton and Perins School in Alresford which proved very successful.

I am a driving instructor based in Winchester and, as a parent myself, I want to make an impact in helping to reduce the number of young drivers who are killed or seriously injured on today’s busy roads (statistics show that 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers will be involved in a collision within the first 6 months of driving). I believe that experience is the key to reducing this alarming statistic as the more driving experience a novice can gain, the more adept they will be at dealing with high risk situations.

The under 17s driver training course is designed to give young people a basic knowledge of driving before taking to the roads which will build their confidence and road awareness and make them better equipped to deal with oncoming traffic situations. I believe that by introducing driver education at an earlier age, young people will also become safer as pedestrians/cyclists/motorcyclists.

I currently hold regular under 17 training days at 3 sites which are in Ardingly, Cranleigh and Emsworth. In 2012 we held a road safety presentation at the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Road Safety Centre in Winchester and we recently held similar presentations at The Westgate School and Perins School.

We offer all our 10 to 17 year olds access to free online theory software and other useful information which I believe can help young people to become safer and more responsible when they take to the roads for the first time.

I feel very passionate about finding new ways to reduce the horrifying statistics concerning young drivers and I am confident that this kind of training will help to teach them to drive safely for life.
